Angelique Y. Louie is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and a member of both the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Group and the Chemistry Graduate. The Louie Lab is located in the Genome and Biomedical Sciences Facility, just steps away from the School of Veterinary Medicine. Our research centers on the visualization of biological markers for the goal of understanding disease processes and facilitating disease diagnosis in the clinic. A primary component of our work is the development of novel contrast agents for imaging.
Work in the Louie Lab is highly interdisciplinary and trainees in the lab can gain skills in chemical synthesis, engineering nano materials, analytical methods, cell culture, and in vivo imaging methods. Dr. Louie is an award-winning mentor and projects are individually tailored to each trainee’s strengths and interests.
